Message from our CDAs
Welcome!
We are really enjoying our time at Herons Crossing getting to know students and staff. As Child Development Advisors, we aim to support the social and emotional well-being of the students. We collaborate with all HCS staff, RVS program specialists and community agencies to identify and support the needs of students.
A large part of this position is working directly with students on an individual basis, providing knowledge, guidance and skill training in the following areas:
- Social Awareness & Social Skills
- Coping with Anxiety, Loss and Grief
- Conflict Resolutions & Problem Solving
- Coping with changes within the family
- Healthy Relationships & Friendship Skills
- Proactive in-class strategies for teachers & students
- Preventative programming for students at risk
We are able to work with students within the classroom, individually and in group settings. We are proud to deliver programming that meets the student’s needs.
